AEM 21-478WR Wrinkle Red Cold Air Intake System Description
AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1994. A Cold Air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and this tuning allows us to deliver the maximum power gains throughout the entire RPM range. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light. I have this intake on my 2011 Subaru STI. Fit and set up are amazing. The intake will give you better air flow so there will l be a slight increase in torque and power. However, there is a drastic change in sound as you can here the blow off from the air filter, which is piped back into the air intake. I like the sound but others may find it annoying.

I installed this intake on my '11 WRX. The fit and finish of this product is better than expected. I flashed the ECU with Cobb's stage 1+ AEM 93 octane map through an Accessport. The difference in performance is amazing. The car will hang with, if not outrun a stock STi.
