I unwrapped this item about 2 weeks ago. It is attractive. And I think I remember some reviewer commenting that it's like a microsuede which isn't true - it's velvet (which is what I prefer). But it gives off a strong odor - presumably fumes from the foam padding. The first night we slept in a different room - man the odor was strong. Two weeks later, it has mostly dissipated, but it is still detectable. I hope it goes away eventually.
Very easy to set up. Wish the black metal legs weren't so exposed (I'd have totally paid a little more for a wood leg).

I absolutely LOVE this headboard. I got it in black and it's even more beautiful than I thought. It really makes my whole room. Setting it up was fairly easy. The only problem I had was that there's a gap between the bottom of the headboard and my mattress - I guess my mattress isn't very high? But it's only an inch or 2 and you can't see t because of my pillow anyway. Other than that I have no complaints. I'm extremely happy with my purchase, it was such a good price for a great quality product! I would definitely recommend this headboard. :)

I am so pleased with my headboard. I was worried that the material wouldn't be soft but it's one of the softest things ever! It's looks amazing in my bedroom and it was super easy to put together. It slid right into my bedframe. It's now one of my fave things in the house!! FYI - the color isn't a really dark black, it looks almost like a really dark purble/black but I think I like it all the more :-)
